The schedule for the Fall Meeting is now available on the meeting website Fall 2018 Meeting.

A workshop is being led by Greg Good from the American Institute of Physics entitled “Women and Minorities in the History of Physics, Role Models for Today”.  This interactive workshop will introduce participants to the contributions of women and minorities in physics and will engage participants in activities that can bring these lessons into the classroom.  If you are interested in attending, please RSVP by October 24th using this form, Workshop Registration Form, so we have enough materials for all attendees.

Other highlights from the meeting will include:
  • Usha Sinha from San Diego State University will talk about the physics in medical physics
  • Joe Salamon from MiraCosta College will talk about scaffolding metacognition into the physics classroom
  • Joseph Calmer from UCLA and Bryn Bishop from Encinitas High School will discuss implementation and assessment of Next Generation Science Standards in the physics classroom
  • And many other contributions from SCAAPT members and lively discussions with your fellow physics teachers from across Southern California
If you are interested in reserving a lunch from Rubios for the meeting, please fill out this form with your choice of burrito,  Lunch Order Form, by Saturday, October 20th.

We look forward to seeing you Saturday, October 27 at MiraCosta College.
