Teaching Job Announcement – Physics 130

Minimum Qualifications:

Masters Degree in Astronomy or Physics

Note, if your degree is in Engineering or a related area, then you must have a Bachelor’s degree in Physics. If both MS and BS are in engineering, then you do not meet minimum qualifications.

Desirable Qualifications:

We prefer recent teaching experience within the last 5 years either college, TA, or high school.

I am looking for several part time teachers for the following course at Cypress College:

2020 Spring Semester runs late January- late May, 2020.

PHYS 130    4   Units, Elementary Physics

Algebra based. No trig or calculus.

This course provides an introduction of the basic concepts, principles, and laws of physics with major emphasis upon their practical importance and application towards understanding natural phenomena.

Textbook: Conceptual Physics by Paul Hewitt

Days and time

                   6:00- 9:10 PM Monday and Wednesday

                    6:00- 9:10 PM Tuesday and Thursday

Salary: $720-1069/unit-hour/semester. About $50/teaching hour

Above class is 6 hours and 20 min per week.

Pay depends on your experience. Lab hours are paid less than lecture hours.

Course pay is about $5250

Class times and days are fixed and cannot be changed.
